We have heard stories about the Revivals of old where God put his hand on a town or a group of people and lives were changed, but it gives me so much honor to say that I have personally seen a move of God just like that. Friendly Lane Baptist was proud to be involved with this meeting.
As mentioned before, on Mother’s Day weekend of 2016 Preacher Randy Hobbs (of New Hope Baptist Church) invited Evangelist C. T. Townsend to come and preach a meeting for him. Little did either of them know that this would be a life changing event for so many people.
The first week of the meeting the Lord truly blessed and neither Pre. Hobbs or C.T. felt that the meeting should end. Four weeks later the crowds were so large that they had to relocate to a tent. The Lord provided the tent and the land needed to place it on. After ten weeks had passed, and over 1,000 people were saved, they held the last service with the promise that the tent would be back.
I’m pleased to tell you right now that the promise was held true and the tent is back in town!
Services are set to begin on May 1st, I don’t know about you but I am ready to see what is going to happen in the future. Will this be the start of a national revival? One can only pray so, but we will just have to wait and see. We encourage you to try to attend this meeting if any way possible.
Friendly Lane Baptist is a proud supporter of missions. Our church periodically has visiting missionaries stop by to talk about their ministries.
Recently, we were pleased to have Patrick Hayes associated with the Berean Armed Forces Ministry attend our church. We enjoyed hearing how he uses churches from all across America to help prepare packets that he in turn passes out to military personnel.
He allows us to get our members, young and old, to help color pictures and write thank-you notes.
These pictures and notes are put in packets with other informational materials that present the Gospel and shows our military how much we appreciate and support them.
This ministry has been very well supported by members of our church who greatly appreciate the freedoms we are provided by our military.
We are proud to have several retired military personnel in our congregation. We thank God that He allows us to live in a free country where we can truly worship Him.
If you are interested in knowing more about this ministry leave us a comment and we will get back to you.
